Board of Missions and Church Extension

logobomThe Board of Mission and Church Extension of The Roanoke District Virginia Conference of the Methodist Church was formed in 1948 for the purpose of organization of schools, aid of weak churches, acquisition of real estate and building new churches, promotion of social works, and support of mission and institutions for the relief of those in need.  As times and church structure have changed the Board of Missions and Church Extension of the Roanoke District, Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church retains these core objectives and is the vehicle for supporting local churches and community organizations that fill those objectives.  Traditionally grant applications are received once a year in January for all programs and projects and are reviewed by the Executive committee.  Recommendations are then voted on at an Annual Meeting in March.  The Board of Missions members consist of one lay and one clergy representative from each charge.

Annual Meeting March 7, 2021 - VIRTUAL via ZOOM.

2021 Grant Application was due by January 31, 2021.
