Bishop's 2019 Bible Study - Since 2017, Bishop Lewis has been encouraging the Virginia Conference to read the Bible in a year -- with a different challenge each year. For 2019, the Bible Challenge is a blend style of ready -- a mixture of Old and New Testament readings each day. Safe Sanctuaries Training - District Wide - Saturday, January 19 - 9:30 am - 12:00 pm (noon); Woodlawn UMC, 2922 Corbieshaw Rd, SW, Roanoke 24015. Safe Sanctuaries is training and planning for those working with children, youth and vulnerable adults to make our congregations safe places. Pre-registration is encouraged. No cost to attend. Vision Day - Saturday, April 27 - 9:30 am - 3:30 pm at First UMC in Salem. The Virginia UMC Conference is bringing Vision Day led by Fresh Expressions.  District churches are invited to register leadership teams to participate.  More information will be available soon.
