HELPING HANDS: June 28-29 at Greene Memorial UMC. Helping Hands is an exciting two-day mission experience for children (rising 4th through 6th Graders) offered to all member churches of the Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church. Mission Encounter: July 27-29 at Smith Mountain Lake 4-H Center. This is an opportunity to study current issues impacting society. Cooperative event sponsored by the VA Conference Missional Ministries Board and the VA Conference UMW. Four studies are available: Embracing Wholeness; Missionary Conferences of the UMC in the US; What About Our Money; and Money Matters (a children's study). Rev. Lay Servant Academy: August 17-19 at Smith Mountain Lake 4-H Center. We are excited to be offering some new classes this year and fantastic worship as we fellowship, worship, pray and Learn & Love like Jesus. 5 Talent Academy: Tuesday, Oct 30 at Thrasher Memorial UMC in Vinton (video feed). Influence 2018: Worship! With Bishop Sharma Lewis, Matt Miofsky, Jason Byasse, and Greg Moore. 5 Talent Academy is changing its format and will now be held annually.
